Chicken & Stuffing Skillet Dinner with Apples & Pecans

This is comfort food made quick and easy in one skillet. Serve with cranberry-orange sauce.

Ingredients 

4 (24 ounces) Gold'n Plump® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1/4 cup butter
1 medium cooking apple, such as Braeburn or Granny Smith, chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup sliced green onion
1-1/2 cups water
1 package (6 ounces) quick-cooking chicken-flavored stuffing mix

Instructions 

Cook chicken on stove-top in a large non-stick skillet according to package directions. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.

Melt butter in same skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in apple, pecans, and onion. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently, or until apple is just tender. Stir in water and bring to boil over high heat. Stir in stuffing mix and top with chicken. Cover; remove skillet from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.

Stir stuffing and serve with chicken.

Tips 

Side Dish Suggestions: Buttered green beans, broccoli, or peas and carrots. Cranberry-orange sauce or relish Corn on the cob Leafy greens salad.

 

Variations 

*Any flavor of seasoned boneless skinless breasts may be used for this recipe.
