Families That Work

Here are some ideas to make the most out of your meals following a busy day:
Make dinner before work (at least one day a week) and refrigerate until ready to serve.
So instead of chopping celery, you can be chatting with the kids about their day.
Rearrange your cabinets so they work for you.
Put daily dishes near the dishwasher, store glasses by the fridge and keep coffee cups by the coffeemaker. Plastic containers can go on the lowest shelves for kid play and pots and pans can go nearest the stove. You’ll save time and steps.
Shop well so you’re never out of chicken.
Type a grocery list of standard staples and family favorites and post it in on the fridge door. Categorize items by grocery section to speed up shopping time. Note brand, quantity and size, so your spouse or the kids can use it, too. Then just circle items as they run out.
